Groundwork Group believes that complex business issues are solved through a collaborative effort. We partner with you to find that solution.

Since 2013, we’ve partnered with food suppliers and retailers to create quality food products and streamlined supply chain efficiency. Our consulting service covers everything from developing business models and constructing procurement networks, to development of products and market channels.

But that’s not why you’re visiting the “About” page. You want to know who we are, and why we’re in this business. The answer to the second question is simple; we truly love what we do, helping innovative and quality food companies find success. Quality food products with clean supply chains are a key component to sustainability and environmental responsibility, and as environmentalists in our own right, this is important to our mission.

As for the answer to the first question, you’ll need a bit of background.

Groundwork Group’s founder, Nathan Forster, has had an interest in local food since first visiting his family’s CSA farm in Noti, OR. It inspired two-and-a-half years as a volunteer with the US Peace Corps in Paraguay, where he immersed himself in the culture, language and environment. His commitment to the local community and the relationships created in the process — and the trust that came with them — proved necessary in communicating new ideas. Community members didn’t want to be told how something is done in a different country in a different hemisphere. They wanted their ways understood. They wanted their culture to remain intact while improving their production systems and opening the door to outside influence. This empirical knowledge is the genesis of Groundwork Group, and what sets us apart from our competition.

About Page Image 1.JPG

We believe in fully immersing ourselves with the clients we serve. We learn their culture, their methods, and their personalities. We don’t see ourselves as authority, but rather as partner. Groundwork Group realizes the value of all five forms of capital — economic, manufactured, social, human and natural – and the importance of holistically incorporating these attributes to drive efficient high impact results. We want to understand the struggles, successes, and what aspects of your company make it special when applying our practice.

Groundwork Group enjoys helping innovative and quality food companies find success. And our clients enjoy working with us as well, because just like the farmers in Paraguay, companies appreciate the value of mutual understanding, and the relationship required for collaborative success. No complex business problem can be tackled alone, and as an invested partner, we can impart our strategy, knowledge and expertise with a mutual understanding that we will achieve what we both want: success.

Let us help build yours.
